What’s your role in flying tandem?

  • Listen to your pilot. When he says run, run down the hill. Soon, your feet will no longer be on the ground.

  • Sit back in your harness and get comfy. Feel the air through the wing. Listen to the wind. Take in the sights.

  • When your pilot says, lean forward and straighten your legs. Your feet will begin to skim the grass, and you’ll run until the glider slows to a stop.

How safe is paragliding?

It’s the most common question we get from clients, and we like hearing it. It means we share a similar interest in safety.

It’s impossible to reduce the risk of flying to zero. That said, we take your safety and our own very seriously. Here are just some of the ways we work to minimize risk:

  • Each of our pilots has hundreds of hours of flying and assessing the weather in Montana

  • Each of our pilots is a certified T3 Tandem Instructor with the US Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association

  • Our equipment has been rigorously tested and accredited by the 34 European nations that rely on the European Committee for Standardization (CEN).

  • We fly within the rated weight range of our equipment, which allows us to fly with clients 70 - 240 lbs.

  • Every flight is equipped with a reserve parachute

  • We fly only in calm, predictable conditions

When practiced in this manner, tandem paragliding has a similar incident rate to other forms of flight.

No-fly cancellation policy

We’ll receive your payment at the trailhead, right before we start the hike up to launch. Any time before we start hiking, you can cancel with no cost.

Once we hike up to launch, if the pilot decides for any reason that it is not safe to fly, your payment will be refunded in full.

Sometimes we start the hike, the pilot deems it safe to fly, but we don’t fly. Either our client chooses not to, or they’re unable to complete the hike. In these cases, we cannot refund your payment. Boss’s orders.

Do I need to sign a waiver?

Yep! You can read our waiver and sign in advance here. It’s also educational and will fill you in on some basics we’ll revisit on launch or on the hike.

Many health and life insurance policies cover activities like rock climbing, motorcycling, skydiving, and paragliding. But many do not. If you’re concerned about your coverage, just check with your provider.

We carry pilot insurance, which covers any damage we might do to property and not much else. It doesn’t cover our bodies, life, or medical expenses, and it will not cover yours.

What about payment?

Flights for the 2024 season are $350 each. You can pay via cash, Venmo, or check.

Our pilots gladly accept tips. If they do a great job for you, show them your appreciation!
