5 things to know about paragliding in Montana:
Your pilot does the flying
Sit back, relax, and enjoy. After a few quick steps you’ll be soaring on natural air currents – just you, the wind, the mountains, and our big, Big Sky.
All launches are hike-ups
Montana’s untouched landscape makes paragliding here unbelievably special. It also means there are no chairlifts or roads to the top. Steep trails ascend 650 - 4,000 feet to our launch sites, requiring 1-3 hours of rigorous hiking. The payoff is worth it, but the effort can be intense for those unaccustomed. You don’t have to carry anything
While you hike, your pilot will be your porter. Each of us regularly hikes up to launch with packs that weigh 40+ pounds. If you have a few items you’d like us to carry, we’re capable and happy to lighten your load.
The flight schedule depends on the wind
We need winds with the right strength and direction to make flight possible. Sophisticated weather modeling helps us forecast conditions fairly accurately to three days out. You simply tell us your availability window, and we’ll call 72 hours ahead to set the time and place to meet.
Don’t pay until your flight day
For the 2024 season, flights cost $350. We’ll meet you at the trailhead, go over paperwork, and receive your payment. Then we’ll start hiking. Find out how to prepare for your flight here >>>

Flying is freeing. Soaring on natural air currents gives you a fresh understanding of the world, its invisible atmosphere, and your place in it. We can’t say what you’ll do with this knowledge, but we know it will make your life fuller, richer, and less encumbered.
If you’d like to fly for reasons of personal growth but can’t afford it, we’re here to help. The Fly High Scholarship Fund allows us to offer two free flights per season to those it would best serve. If you’d like to fly on a scholarship, just send us a brief email describing where you’re at in life and how paragliding might help you get where you’re going.
